Presentation.5 Going through Ellen Emery's effects I have found an interesting little book. It is entitled "The Pictorial New Testament For The Young" (unfortunately I cannot see any publishing date). On the inside cover is a gold lettered black label with the name E. Harvey on it. I assume this must have belonged to her Mother, Eliza Harvey, as Ellen herself was born a Spivey. On the adjacent page to the inside cover is an inscription written by Ellen when the book for given to her son William Henry on the occasion of his 31st birthday (the same age her husband Henry died). It reads: "W. H. Emery with best wishes from Mother, Nov 10th 1920" |
