Between c.1918 and c.1923, Flo, Mary and Millie worked for 'Mr. Lasnick in the East End'
from Pat: when Mary was about 40ish she went to the Tailor & Cutter School
- she studied Design and Pattern Cutting: top of her class
- the Queen's couturier, Norman Hartnell, offered her a job
- but she turned it down to continue working with Millie
